Anil Kapoor wanted Saif Ali Khan to play Sunny, but Saif wanted another role: How No Entry was cast

No Entry, starring Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, Lara Dutt, Bipasha Basu, Selina Jaitley and Esha Deol, turned 11 on Thursday. The comedy is directed by Anis Bajmi and produced by Bonnie Kapoor. Anil had a major role in taking care of the making of the film as the film was under his home banner.

In making a video for the film in 2005, Anil Kapoor shared how he was convinced from day one that only Salman could play the role of love because that was the main theme of the film. Kishan, who played Anil himself, can do it for anyone else. However, things were not so smooth for Sunny, who played Fardin. In the throwback video, Anil shares the story behind the casting.

“Our first choice for Sunny was Saif Ali Khan. We met with him and explained the character. Saif heard the script and said that he has played the role of Sunny before, and wants to play the role of Kishan. When he found out that I was playing Kishan, he backed away. She said that she thought about the role of husband and realized that no one can play the role of Kisan except me. Saif said that he just wanted to make this film because it was a great comedy, ”Anil said in the video. In the end, Fardin Khan played the role of Sunny.

Although Bipasha Basu revealed that this was her first role where she had to do a lot of singing and dancing, she gained confidence after filming the song titled “Ishq Galli”.

Anil Kapoor, who collaborated with Salman Khan on No Entry for the first time, revealed how he was like no one else on the set in his commitment to the film. In the making video, Anil said, “We first shot in South Africa. I was also a producer on the set. We booked a suite at a great hotel for Salman as we wanted to prove that we are big producers and we take care of our hero. Salman asked where the rest of the crew were staying. Obviously, the whole staff could not stay in the same hotel, it was also so expensive or otherwise, the whole budget would have gotten there.

The actor added, “When Salman found out that we were staying at another hotel nearby, he refused to stay and said that he would stay where the whole staff is. It was really nice to leave his suite and shift with us.”

Boman Irani, Paresh Ganatra, and Dinesh Hingoo star in No Entry.
