As Indian cinema halls reopen after the second wave of coronaviruses, more and more films are announcing their release dates. The latest to join the bandwagon is Ryan Reynolds-starrer Free Guy.
Directed by Shaun Levy, it is slated to release in English and Hindi on September 1 in Indian theaters. The film also stars Jodi Kamar, Joe Carey, Lil Rail Howery, Uttark Ambudkar, and Taika Vetiti.
Free Guy is playing the role of an NPC or on-playable character in a video game, Ryan Reynolds, who gains consciousness and begins to descend into the crisis of existence. The film was released overseas and scored cent2 percent on Rotten Tomatoes where the critical reads read, “Free Guy is great fun with a clever idea, sweet, self-conscious humor and an interesting acting.”
Free Guy’s official summary reads, “Ryan Reynolds stars as a bank teller who discovers that he’s actually a background player in an open-world video game, and decides to be the protagonist of his own story – which he wrote himself. Now in a world where there are no boundaries. No, he is determined to be the person who saves his world that way, before it’s too late. ”
Ryan Reynolds recently shared on Twitter that a sequel to Free Guy has already gone green.
